Malerkotla youth murdered in Canada, had gone abroad on work permit

An unfortunate news has come out from Canada, where a Punjabi youth was stabbed to death by an unknown person on White Rock Waterfront on Tuesday night. The deceased youth has been identified as Kulwinder Singh Sohi of Malerkotla. He went to Canada in 2018 on a work permit.

Police in White Shock, B.C., Canada, say they are increasing patrols in the town's waterfront area after a man was stabbed to death Tuesday night. Police say Kulwinder Singh Sohi was murdered two days after he stabbed another man sitting on a bench in the same area.

Family members have identified the man stabbed to death as Kulwinder Sohi, 27, of Surrey. White Rock RCMP say they responded to a report of a man suffering from a stab wound in the 15400 block of Marine Drive, a few blocks east of the White Rock Pier, around 9:30 p.m. Staff Sergeant Rob Dixon said the man died at the scene.

Dixon said that by the time officers arrived at the scene within minutes of the report, the suspect had fled the scene. The deceased came to Canada on a work permit in 2018 and had obtained Canadian PR in Surrey, British Columbia some time ago. The deceased Kulwinder Singh Sohi worked as a plumber in Canada.
