Lucknow, 19 October (HS). The CPI (ML) has raised questions over the government's plan to bulldoze 30 houses, including that of an accused, in Maharajganj village after the communal riots in Bahraich. The party said that why did the memory of running bulldozers on the houses come only after the riots? Why is unilateral action being taken to hide administrative failure in Bahraich?
State Secretary Sudhakar Yadav said in a statement issued on Saturday that BJP is fanning the politics of polarization keeping in mind the by-elections. BJP is doing this due to fear of defeat in the by-elections, so that there is polarization of votes. The MLA leader has demanded an impartial investigation into the riots, including the incident of two accused being shot in the leg by the police, and a stop to the bulldozer action. He said that the viral video statement of the sister of an accused who was injured in the police action has brought the police story of half encounter under doubt. As if its script was already decided.
The State Secretary said that the policy of 'thok do' is going on in the state. According to the news, notices for bulldozer action have been pasted on 30 houses in Maharajganj. Whereas it is illegal to run a bulldozer on a house even if someone is accused or proven guilty. This is when the Supreme Court has put a stay on bulldozer justice. There is a plan to bring women and children of 30 houses onto the streets crying encroachment. In the state, the Chief Minister's bulldozer is not only running on the houses but also on the Constitution and democracy.
