Maldives: Indian soldiers returned home from Maldives, know the reason behind this


President of neighboring country Maldives Mohammed Moizzu had given a deadline of May 10 for the withdrawal of Indian Army from his country. The reason behind this is that Mohammad Moizzu is considered a pro-China leader. During the election campaign, Moijju had also campaigned for about 90 Indian soldiers posted in Maldives to come to India. Maldives President's Office spokesperson Heena Waleed said that the last batch of Indian soldiers deployed in Maldives have been sent home. However. They were not given information about the exact number of Indian soldiers.

Heena Waleed said that information about the number of soldiers will be given later. The Indian Army has deployed two helicopters and one Donair aircraft, gifted by India, to the Maldives for operations and maintenance.

Earlier, the Maldives government had announced that 51 soldiers have been sent back to India on Monday. Citing an official document, the government informed about the presence of 89 Indian soldiers in Maldives. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told a press conference on Thursday, May 9 that the first and second batches of Indian personnel have returned to India and Indian technical officers have now been handed over the management of three Indian aircraft aviation foremen. The incident occurred when Maldives Foreign Minister Musa Zameer was on a visit to India. He met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday.
