Malay Mehta's wife Sneha also arrested in Dombivali factory blast case

Mumbai: Another director of the company has been arrested in connection with the reactor blast at a chemical factory in Dombivali. Earlier, company director Malay Mehta and his mother Malti were arrested. Now his wife Sneha has been arrested and further investigation is underway. About 10 people were killed in the blast at the company. An official said on Wednesday, and more than 60 were injured.

The intensity of the blast at Amudan Chemical Unit in Dombivli on 23 May was so high that the glass panes of the windows of the nearby houses broke. And cars, roads, electric poles were damaged. The company building collapsed. A fire broke out after the blast and the fire spread to the surrounding companies. The bodies of the deceased were torn into pieces and it became difficult to identify them.

It is alleged that this incident happened due to the negligence of the company owner. After this incident, the police arrested Amudan Company's director Malay Mehta (age 38 years).

A crime branch official said that the police had summoned Sneha Mehta (age 35), another director of the company and wife of Malay Mehta. She was questioned thoroughly. Initial investigation revealed her involvement in the crime. She was then arrested.

His name was not in the FIR registered by the police in this case last week.

A police team raided Mehta's residence. During the search operation, the police seized several documents. These documents are important for investigating the case.

State Industry Minister Uday Samant said that a three-member high level committee comprising Principal Secretaries of Industry, Labour, Environment departments has been formed to investigate the incident. They will submit the report in three weeks.

State Labor Minister Suresh Khade said that an expert team from New Delhi will investigate to find out the real cause of the explosion. Apart from this, it is also being investigated whether any other employee is missing.

Keeping in mind that similar incidents have taken place in some factories located in MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) area of ​​Dombivali in the recent past, the local people are demanding to shift the companies to other places.
