Khichdi is a common dish prepared in every home. Whenever you feel like eating something light and simple, the first thing that comes to your mind is Khichdi. Today we will share the recipe of Makhana Khichdi instead of the usual rice and dal khichdi. You can also consume it during Navratri. So let's know about its recipe.
Material:
Makhana – 2 cups
Potato – 1
Green chilli – 2
Fresh coriander – 1 tbsp
Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
Desi Ghee – 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
salt as per taste
recipe:
-First of all finely cut potatoes, green chillies and fresh green coriander.
– Take makhana and break them into small pieces.
– Heat half a spoon of desi ghee on high flame in a pressure cooker.
– Once the ghee melts, reduce the flame to medium. Add finely chopped potatoes and green chillies and fry for a few minutes.
– Now put the broken makhana in the pressure cooker. – Add black pepper powder and salt as per taste.
Then add half cup of water, close the lid and cook till 4-5 whistles.
– Turn off the flame and wait for the pressure to release from the cooker.
Once the pressure is released, open the lid and take out the Makhana Khichdi in a serving dish.
– Squeeze lemon juice over Khichdi and garnish with fresh coriander.
-Makhani khichdi can also be made in a pan instead of a pressure cooker.
