1/4 cup tuvar dal
-2 tbsp mug dal
– 2 tbsp masoor dal
-1 3/4 cups water
-3 tsp oil
-1 teaspoon cumin
-1 tsp ginger paste
-1/2 tsp garlic paste
– 3 chillies chopped
-1/2 cup finely chopped onion
– 1 cup fenugreek washed and finely chopped
– 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
-1/4 tsp turmeric powder
-1/2 tsp chili powder
-1 teaspoon lemon juice
– salt to taste

Wash and clean all the lentils thoroughly. – Now boil it in a cooker with 1 cup of water. Blow three whistles. Open the lid of the cooker when the air is released. While the lentils are cooking, prepare the ingredients for dressing. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds start crackling, add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies to it. Fry it for half a minute. – Then add onion to it. Fry the onion till it turns light pink. – Then add tomatoes and fenugreek. Stir well and let it swell for three minutes. When the tomatoes become a little sticky, add boiled lentils, turmeric, red chili and salt to it and stir well again. Add about a quarter cup of water and mix well. Then let it boil for about five to seven minutes. Finally add lemon juice, stir well and turn off the gas. Fenugreek dal is ready.
You can serve this dal with parathas and rice. Its taste gives you special pleasure in the rainy season. This dish will look different in dinner and will also be good for health.
