In such a situation, it becomes very difficult to make something light and nutritious. Keeping both these things in mind, we have brought oats recipe for you.
These oats recipes are not only easy to make but are also loaded with essential nutrients. Adding this to your kid's lunch box will keep your child full of energy throughout the day.
Spiced Oats
2 cups rolled oats
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 teaspoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
Method of preparation
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
2. Add green chillies and onions, mix well and sauté till the onions turn golden.
3. Add tomatoes and salt, cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
4. Add red chili powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
5. Add oats, 4 cups of water and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. – Add one teaspoon of green coriander and mix well.
6. Garnish with remaining coriander and serve hot.
