Make spicy and tomato dal baati in Rajasthani style at home

Dal Baati is a traditional Rajasthani dish. Here we will tell you the method of making spicy Tammatmati Dal Bati at home. This Dal Bati recipe with garlic chutney and green onions is fun to eat in the evening. This dal baati will make you sweat even in the cold of winter. So let’s make dal baati.

Materials for making wick:

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Try 1/4 tsp
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • water as required

For dal:

  • 1 cup toor dal
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

Method of preparation

  • To make Baati, take flour in a vessel. Then add salt to the flour and knead the dough with hands and add ghee.
  • – Now add water and knead the dough. Knead the dough a little hard.
  • Keep the dough for 10-15 minutes.
  • – Now divide the dough into small parts. Make each part in a round shape.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan. – Add batter and cook for 2-3 minutes. You can also fry Gapgotani in Tavi.
  • – After turning the pan, cook the other side also for 2-3 minutes.
  • To make dal, wash and soak toor dal. Then add water, salt, turmeric and pulses in the cooker and boil.
  • Heat oil in a pan. – Add chopped onion, tomato and green chilli and fry for some time.
  • – Now add turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala and salt.
  • – Now add toor dal and cook for 2-3 minutes. Your hot dal and baati is ready. Serve with garlic chutney, green onions and ghee.
