Meanwhile, devotees get busy serving Ganpati Bappa. Devotees prepare things of their choice for Bappa. One of these is modak. It is believed that modak is very dear to Ganpati ji and without it his worship is considered incomplete.

Today we are going to tell you an easy recipe of flour modak. Famous chef Ajay Chopra has shared it on his social media account. He told that it can be made by boiling or frying it.

Wheat Flour Modak Recipe Card

Ingredients for making Wheat Flour Modak

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • a pinch of salt
  • Water as needed
  • 1 tablespoon ghee (for the filling)
  • 1 tablespoon cashew nuts
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 2 cups grated coconut
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • cardamom powder
  • Oil for frying

How to make Wheat Flour Modak

  • – First of all, add wheat flour, a pinch of salt and ghee in a bowl and mix well.
  • Rub it well with your palms, so that it starts looking like breadcrumbs.
  • Add water little by little and knead a nice smooth and hard dough.
  • Cover it with a wet cloth and leave it for 5-10 minutes.
  • Now heat a pan and pour some ghee into it and add cashews and raisins and fry for a few seconds.
  • – Add grated coconut to it and fry for a few seconds.
  • – Now add poppy seeds and stir and finally add finely chopped jaggery and mix until the jaggery melts.
  • Turn off the flame and let it cool.
  • – Knead the covered dough again for 20 seconds and make small balls and roll them like flat sheets.
  • Make small balls using a round cutter.
  • This will serve as the base for modak.
  • – Now fill the stuffing in it and bring it from the edge to the top and close it.
  • Close the lid with the help of your fingers.
  • Modak is ready.
  • You can fry or steam it as per your choice.
  • If you want to steam modaks then steam the steamer beforehand.
  • – After this, place the modak in it and steam it for 10-12 minutes.
  • – Heat oil in a pan for frying and add modaks one by one.
  • Apply ghee on both fried and steamed modaks to make them shiny.
  • Place this modak in a beautiful plate and offer it to Lord Shri Ganesha.
