Ingredients of Vati Dal Khamna

  • A bowl of gram lentils,
  • Ginger,
  • Green chilly,
  • Turmeric,
  • Curd,
  • Oil,
  • According to the sweet taste,
  • Soda,
  • Lemon juice,
  • Rye,
  • Asafoetida,
  • Sugar,
  • sweet neem leaves,
  • Water,
  • Coriander

How to make Vati Dal Khamna

  • Wash a bowl of gram lentils with water and soak them for 4 hours
  • – Now put the gram lentils in a mixer jar and grind them. It should become like a batter, add water as required. Leave it in a pan overnight for fermentation.
  • – Now, add grated ginger, green chili paste, curd, oil, turmeric powder, and salt to this batter and mix well.
  • – Now add baking soda and lemon juice to it and mix it to make the batter. Apply some oil in the dhokli dish and pour the batter in the dish.
  • – Now steam the batter for 15 minutes and remove the dough from the dhokla and cut it into small square pieces.
  • – Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, green chillies, asafoetida, sugar and sweet neem and pour the tempering over the khaman pieces. – Now garnish it with chopped fresh coriander and serve.
