Ingredients for making Kathiawadi style dhokli:
- 1 cup gram flour
- buttermilk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 medium sized onion
- 2 medium sized tomatoes
- 1 green chilli
- baking soda
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- salt to taste
- 2 teaspoons green coriander
- Asafoetida
How to make Dhokli in Kathiawadi style
- Boil water in a big pan, then add salt, baking soda and gram flour and add ginger chilli paste, turmeric, coriander seeds, chopped green chillies. – When this mixture becomes thick, turn off the gas. – Now apply oil on a plate, spread this mixture and cut it like a dhokla with the help of a paddle.
- – Now heat oil for frying in a pan. – Add mustard, cumin, asafoetida, ginger chilli paste, chopped onion, tomato and fry. Then add buttermilk mixed with water. – Then add salt, turmeric, garam masala and let the umeri boil for a while.
- – Now add dhokli in it and let it cook. – After it is cooked well, turn off the gas and garnish with coriander. Your Dhokli dish is ready.
