Ingredients to make Lauki Kadhi
- Bottle gourd: 1 medium size
- Curd: 2 cups
- turmeric powder: 1 tsp
- Salt: as per taste
- Cumin: 1 tsp
- Asafoetida: a pinch
- Curry leaf: 8-10 leaves
- ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
- Tomato: 1 (finely chopped)
- chilli powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- coriander powder: 1 tsp
- mustard oil: 2-3 spoons
- Sugar: 1/2 teaspoon
Method to make bottle gourd curry
- prepare gourd,
- Peel the bottle gourd and cut it into small pieces.
- Put bottle gourd pieces, turmeric and some salt in the cooker and cook for 2-3 whistles.
- Make bottle gourd paste,
- Let the cooked gourd cool down.
- Add curd to it and blend it in the mixer. If you don’t have a mixer, use a churner or a broom.

- Heat mustard oil in a pan.
- Add cumin and asafoetida in oil.
- Add curry leaves and crackle.

- Add ginger-garlic paste and fry lightly.
