Bihar Education Department has announced the much awaited transfer process for lakhs of teachers of the state. According to the new instructions of the Education Department, transfer of teachers will no longer be done arbitrarily, but under a systematic three-phase transfer process. The aim of the government is to balance the number of teachers in schools and post them in educational institutions of their choice or nearby. A detailed time-table and schedule has been issued for this entire process, so that teachers do not have to face any kind of confusion.

Transfer of teachers will be done in three phases, know how the system will work

According to the schedule set by the Education Department, this transfer process will be completely online. In the first phase, priority will be given to those teachers who have been working at the same place for a long time, or are entitled for transfer due to serious illness or other special reasons. In the second phase, mutual transfers will be given the opportunity, while in the third and final phase, the remaining teachers will be posted on vacant posts. It has been ensured that there is no acute shortage of teachers in any school, hence the entire mapping will be done through software so that transparency is maintained.

When will the process start and how long will it last?

According to the official calendar released by the Education Department, the portal for transfer applications will be opened from next week. After review of the first phase of applications, the draft list will be released by mid-August. This entire three-phase process will be completed by the last week of September, so that all teachers can take charge in their new schools before the new academic session or quarter of October. The department has instructed the District Education Officers (DEOs) to update the number of vacancies in time so that there is no technical hindrance in the application.

Teachers will have to pay special attention to these things

Teachers participating in this entire transfer process will have to keep all their necessary documents, such as service book and other personal information, updated on the NIC portal. It has been clearly stated by the department that applications giving wrong information or violating the rules will be canceled without any notice. Teachers have to keep in mind the seniority and current status of the school while selecting the schools of their choice. This exercise has been started with the aim of bringing major improvements in the education system of government schools of Bihar, so that the availability of teachers can be ensured even in remote schools of the state.
