On Tuesday morning, 18 coaches of train number 12810 Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed in Jharkhand's Saraikela-Kharsawan district. It is reported that two people died in this incident. Also, about 20 passengers were injured. Out of the total injured, five people suffered minor injuries and were treated on the spot, although some passengers have been admitted to the hospital. This train, which left Howrah on Monday night, met with an accident on Tuesday morning. The PRO of Chakradharpur Railway Division said that arrangements are being made for a train to send the passengers.
Police said that the accident happened at 3.45 am near Barabaans, about 80 km from Jamshedpur. This place is very close to West Singhbhum. 18 out of 22 coaches of Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed near Barabaans. Among them, a passenger travelling in B4 coach died. Along with this, another person is said to be trapped in the said coach. It is being told that there were a total of 16 passenger coaches, one was a pantry car, while one was a power car. The injured were given medical aid in Barabaans. Now they are being taken to Chakradharpur for better treatment. He said that the rescue operation is going on.
Divisional Commissioner of West Singhbhum Kuldeep Chaudhary said that two people have died in this incident, while 20 people have been injured. NDRF team has been called for relief and rescue work. The place where the incident happened is near the border of West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan.
