A major train accident has occurred in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Four coaches and an engine of the Sabarmati-Agra superfast train derailed near Madar railway station in the district. Many people have been injured in this accident. The incident is said to have happened around 1 o'clock in the night. As soon as information about the accident was received, the rescue team reached the spot. According to sources, many passengers have suffered minor injuries. The injured have been sent to Ajmer station for treatment.
After the accident, 6 trains on this route have been canceled and the routes of two have been changed. The cause of the accident has not been revealed yet. Superfast Sabarmati Express derailed near Home signal at Madar in Ajmer on Sunday night, causing the engine and four general coaches to derail.
Railways has set up a help desk at Ajmer Junction by issuing helpline number 0145-2429642. Although the reason for the accident has not been revealed yet, a goods train was standing on the track adjacent to the track on which the express train derailed. Passengers have been sent to Ajmer railway station.
Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, Captain Shashikaran said that track restoration work is being done. Train operations have started on the down line. Rail traffic has been affected due to the derailment of train number 12548 Sabarmati-Agra Cantt.
