EPFO PF Claim New Rules: EPFO has again changed the rules on the issue of PF claim. Now Aadhar card will not be required to claim PF. But this rule will not be applicable to all employees, it will be applicable only to some special category members. This relaxation is part of the relaxation given to allow linking of Universal Account Number (UAN) with Aadhaar for certain categories of employees. These measures will benefit those employees who face difficulty in obtaining Aadhaar number or are incidentally unable to obtain Aadhaar like documents.

Who will get the exemption?
International employees registered under EPFO ​​have been exempted under this change. This also includes those employees who have returned to their country after working in India and are not able to obtain Aadhaar. Apart from this, Indians holding foreign citizenship, former Indian citizens who have gone abroad permanently and citizens of Nepal and Bhutan are also exempted under it.

Aadhaar requirement will not be applicable to employees covered under EPF and MP Act, who are residing outside India and do not have Aadhaar card. Thousands of employees will benefit from this change. They will be provided a separate option to make claim under EPFO.

Claim can be made under these documents

For this category of employees, EPFO ​​has allowed settlement of PF claims through other documents. Passport, citizenship certificate or other official ID proof is included as part of the verification. Verification PAN, bank account details and other eligibility criteria will be adopted, Rs. For claims above Rs 5 lakh, verification will be done from the member’s employer.

As per the rules made by EPFO, officials must carefully scrutinize the settlement of any claim. Thereafter, approval is required through e-office file through the Approval Officer-in-charge (OIC). Employees are advised to retain the UAN number or transfer the previous service records to the same UAN number. This makes claiming easier.
