Katihar, 17 October (Hindustan Reporter). Taking major action against ganja smuggling, the Kursela police station of the district has recovered 58 kg of ganja and arrested a smuggler. This action has been taken on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police.
A raiding team led by Kursela police station incharge Guddu Kumar raided the house of Bahru Mandal in Nawabganj Purba Tola. On Thursday, the police station chief said that after searching, a total of 10 kg of ganja was found in the room of Bahru Mandal's house and 22 kg of silver colored Sumo Gold in the hall inside the house and 26 kg of white colored Sumo Gold, a total of 58 kg of ganja like substance. It was recovered and two mobile phones were also recovered from the spot. The name of the arrested smuggler is Bahru Mandal, who is a resident of Nawabganj Purba Tola. Police said that Bahru Mandal used to buy and sell illegal ganja.
This action has been taken on the basis of information received at the local level. Police said that continuous action will be taken against ganja smuggling. In this regard, a case has been registered in Kursela police station under case number 193/24 section 08/20 (B) (ii) (C). Police are investigating further.
With this major action against ganja smuggling, Katihar Police has proved that it is working on the policy of zero tolerance against crime. The police have appealed to the general public to cooperate in providing information against crime.
