Maharashtra Police: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Maharashtra has launched a special operation to trace Bangladeshi nationals living illegally at various places with the help of local police. ATS officials said that under this operation, based on secret information, with the help of local police, Bangladeshi citizens who had entered India illegally were searched in the cities of Thane, Navi Mumbai and Solapur in the last 24 hours.
A total of 03 cases have been registered in different police stations under Foreign Nationals Act, 1946, Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1950, Passport Act, 1967. During the operation, ATS officials along with local police officials arrested a total of 13 Bangladeshi citizens living illegally. These include 7 men and 6 women, who have been arrested.
While investigating the crime, ATS officials also found that Bangladeshi nationals had used fake documents and managed to fabricate documents like Aadhaar cards etc. and Indian Citizenship Identity Cards were also fabricated by the accused Bangladeshi nationals.
Let us inform that earlier this week, under this campaign, 7 cases were registered in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Nashik, in which 17 Bangladeshi citizens were traced and arrested. The crime is being investigated by the respective local police stations.
