N EPAL ACCIDENT NEWS: A major accident has happened in Nepal. Two buses full of passengers were swept away in the Trishuli river due to a landslide. Officials said that there were about 63 passengers in both the buses. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out after the accident but due to continuous rain, it is becoming difficult to find the missing buses.
Chief District Officer of Nepal's Chitwan district Indradev Yadav said that the accident happened at 3:30 am today. He said that due to a landslide on the Madan-Ashri highway, two buses carrying about 63 passengers were swept away in the Trishuli river. According to initial information, a total of 63 people including the bus drivers were travelling in both the buses. He said that we are on the spot and the search operation is going on. Due to continuous rain, there is difficulty in finding the missing buses.
Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed grief over the accident by tweeting. He wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the reports of about 5 dozen passengers missing after a bus overturned due to a landslide on the Narayangarh-Muglin road section and damage to property due to floods and landslides in various parts of the country.” I direct all government agencies, including the Home Administration, to search for the passengers and rescue them effectively.
