Maitri Mahotsav is strengthening India-Nepal relations: Khemraj Pondel

Kushinagar, 16 February (Hindus). With the aim of strengthening India-Nepal friendship, India-Nepal Friendship Festival-2024 was organized on Friday at Buddha PG College, Kushinagar with the joint cooperation of Culture and Tourism Department and District Administration. The festival was inaugurated by the guests by lighting the lamp.

On this occasion, a replica of Shri Ram Temple was presented to the chief guest of the Maitri Mahotsav, National President of Nepal Rashtriya Sevak Sangh, Khemraj Pondel. He said that India-Nepal Friendship Festival is being inscribed in golden letters. The third stop of the festival to be held in eight districts is Kushinagar, the place of Mahaparinirvana of Mahatma Buddha. There is a bread-and-daughter relationship between India and Nepal. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

He told that the cycle journey has started from Siddhinath to Gorakhnath in Nepal. India Nepal friendship is like Krishna and Sudama. Work is also being done to connect Lumbini to Kushinagar.

On this occasion, Director of International Buddhist Research Institute, Dr. Rakesh Singh said that India and Nepal have relations since time immemorial. The life philosophy of Ram and Buddha connects the relations between the two countries, cultural richness will strengthen the relations.

Principal Professor Vinod Mohan Mishra, Dr. Kaustubh Narayan Mishra, Virendra Singh Ahluwalia, EO Shailendra Kumar Mishra, Dr. Nigam Maurya, Rakesh Jaiswal described India-Nepal relations as unique. Said that unlike other countries, our mutual relations are not determined by geographical and political reasons. The foundation of our relations rests on a centuries-old social, cultural and religious bridge. Janakpur is the birthplace of Mother Janaki, the better half of our beloved Lord Shri Ram.

It is noteworthy that the objective of Maitri Mahotsav is to preserve the rich heritage of the state and to spread the feeling of patriotism among the young generation and students.
