Korba 28 June (HS). The state government is running the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to strengthen women empowerment. Women from economically backward families of the society are benefiting from this ambitious scheme and are becoming economically empowered. As the amount is transferred directly to the bank accounts of women every month under the scheme, it has become a support for them in adverse circumstances.
Mrs. Purnima Dwivedi, a resident of Dadar Khurd, Korba, who benefited from the scheme, praised this welfare scheme of the state government and said that this scheme has become the basis of economic strength for women of middle and lower class families of the society. Women are becoming financially empowered by using the amount received from this scheme. With the scheme, women have been able to fulfill their personal needs, household needs, purchase of daily use items and other needs. Purnima told that her husband Mr. Kunj Bihari Dwivedi is a priest in the village temple. Her family consists of her husband and two small children. The beneficiary told that she is a housewife and she has been receiving money under the scheme for the last 4 months. Which she uses for household expenses.
Before the implementation of the scheme, she had to depend on her husband to fulfill her household needs. Now, as the amount of this scheme is deposited in her account every month, she is not facing any difficulty in managing small needs. With the amount received from the scheme, she is also able to arrange nutritious food items for both her children. She is also saving for future needs. Mrs. Purnima said that by implementing this scheme, the state government has worked to make women self-reliant and capable. This has instilled a new zeal of self-reliance and self-confidence in women. Purnima expressed her gratitude to the head of the state government, Vishnu Dev Sai, for making women self-reliant by providing them economic support and thanking him heartily.
