Mahashivratri 2024: If you want to keep Shivling at home then avoid these mistakes, keep these things in mind

Mahashivratri 2024: Mahashivratri is the biggest festival of the year for the devotees of Lord Shiva. This year the festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated on 8 March 2024. On this occasion devotees visit Shiva temple to seek blessings of Lord Shiva.

There are many people who have installed Shivalinga in their home or are thinking of doing so. If you install Shivlinga in the house, then you should follow some special rules for installing Shivlinga so that there is happiness and prosperity in the house. So let us know these special things.

If you are keeping Shivling at home then follow these rules

1. It is said in Shivpuran that not more than one Shivling should be kept in the house and Shivling should never be kept in a place where it cannot be worshipped.

2. It is considered customary to always install Shivling in a carrying object i.e. Argha. Keeping Shivling in the pond hinders its worship, hence there is a rule to install Shivling in the temple. Shiva Linga kept in the pond has an adverse effect and the planet Mars becomes heavy in the life of the person.

3. By establishing Shivalinga in a pond, there is a high possibility of Chandra Dosh (moon defect) occurring in a person's life. The reason behind the occurrence of Chandra Dosh is that the Moon is seated on the head of Lord Shiva, in such a situation, if the sanctity, sanctity and rules of Shivalinga are ignored, then the possibility of occurrence of Chandra Dosh becomes strong.

4. Mount Kailash, the abode of Mahadev, is situated in the north direction. Whether the Shivalinga is in the house or the temple, its altar i.e. the water pond should always face north.

5. Energy always flows from Shivling, hence there should always be a stream of water flowing on Shivling so that the energy remains calm. Some people offer water to Shivling every week but it is not enough, it creates unrest in the house.

6. A Shivalinga made of stone brought from Narmada river should be kept in the house, it is more auspicious. Apart from this, you can also keep Parad Shivling.

7. The size of the Shivling installed in the house should always be small and should not be more than the size of the thumb.

8. Shivling should not be worshiped at home, it should be kept as it is and worshiped as per the rituals. Shivling should be worshiped every morning and evening, if regular worship is not possible then Shivling should not be kept in the house.
