Maharashtra Assembly Election Result 2024 Latest News: Maharashtra Assembly Election Results have created a political situation which will not be limited to Maharashtra only, this situation can also be seen in the elections of other states in the future. Political experts believe that these results can also impact national politics in future.

In fact, out of 288 seats, the Mahayuti alliance has won 229 seats, while the MVA has been reduced to only 47 seats. BJP contested 149 seats, out of which it won 132 seats, the strike rate is 89% and it will confuse the opponents. Here we are telling you 6 big things related to these results.

1. An outline of reforms will be made, Waqf Bill will also be included in it
BJP created history by winning the Lok Sabha elections for the third consecutive time. However, its seats definitely reduced. BJP is currently running the government with the help of NDA allies. However, experts say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has not shown any weakness on the reform front and has increased the Ayushman Bharat medical insurance cover. Apart from this, Joint Pension Scheme has also been started.

The government also introduced an ambitious Waqf Bill, which has been opposed by Muslim organizations and opposition forces. The Waqf Bill was referred to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), which is now ready with its report. Immediately after the historic victory in Haryana, BJP’s spectacular performance in Maharashtra will boost the confidence of the Central Government. The Modi government will now move forward with full confidence on the Waqf Bill, which aims to reform the way Waqf properties are managed. This could also help in taking forward the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which PM Modi has termed as a secular civil code. The JPC report on Waqf Bill can be discussed only in the winter session.

2. New formula of Hindu unity
BJP had to face a tough competition in the Lok Sabha elections. On the one hand, the opposition parties got Muslim votes, while on the other hand, the Congress campaign around the caste census slipped the BJP votes. In the 2014 and 2019 general elections, the BJP managed to get votes from all castes and communities, which did not happen in 2024. In this election, BJP united Hindus in its camp with slogans like ‘If we divide, we will divide’ and ‘If we unite, we will be safe’. Additionally, the RSS roped in 65 organizations for its ‘Sajag Raho’ (Be Vigilant) campaign to prevent division of Hindu votes on caste lines. Thus, Maharashtra has become the laboratory of Hindutva 2.0 and the success of RSS-BJP in garnering votes here will be replicated at the national level.

3. BJP is far ahead in direct competition with Congress
Congress’s defeat in Maharashtra also shows how it loses in a direct contest with BJP. The results of 76 seats in Maharashtra were most keenly watched, where there was a direct contest between the two. Of them, 36 were in Vidarbha, where the BJP-led alliance has won. The rise of BJP and fall of Congress is evident from the performance of the parties in direct competition, which reflects the organizational strength and popularity of the party. In a direct contest with BJP, Congress’s strike rate increased from 8% in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to 30% in 2024, while BJP’s strike rate fell from 92% to 70%. However, the situation changed in Haryana in October, where there was a direct contest between BJP and Congress. Here Congress failed to stop BJP from forming the government for the third time in a row. The results of Maharashtra Assembly elections strengthen the belief that if we talk about direct contest, BJP is far ahead of Congress.

4. Congress lost the power of communication with allies
After the crushing defeat of Congress in Haryana, several attacks were made on Congress by its allies in the Bharat Alliance. After the party’s crushing defeat in the Maharashtra elections, once again only its allies can attack it. The strike rate of Congress in Maharashtra was around 19%, which is very bad. In Haryana, Congress did not include Aam Aadmi Party in the Bharat alliance. Later questions were also raised regarding this. An editorial in Saamana, the mouthpiece of Shiv Sena’s Uddhav faction, has blamed the party’s “overconfidence and arrogance of the state leadership” for the Congress’s defeat in Haryana. In Maharashtra too, Congress tried to become a bigger partner and did not allow Uddhav Thackeray to be presented as the CM face.

5. A mix of populist schemes and infrastructure boost
Big infrastructure projects in Maharashtra were also at stake. While the Congress-led MVA was trying to woo voters by promising cash assistance, the Mahayuti had promised cash guarantee schemes like the Ladki Behan Yojana. Experts say that by maintaining the right mix of infrastructure development, Mahayuti has defeated its opponents by a huge margin in this election. After coming back to power, Mahayuti made announcements such as concretization of Mumbai’s roads, opening of the park at Mahalaxmi Race Course and taking forward the Gargai Pinjal water schemes. People also felt that the Dharavi redevelopment project could face hurdles if the MVA comes.

6. Adani issue and fireworks in winter session
Congress MP and leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has promised a heated winter session, which is scheduled to begin on Monday (November 25). Rahul Gandhi has planned to corner the central government on the impeachment of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani in the US in the alleged bribery case. However, some experts say that after the Congress’s defeat in Maharashtra, where it got only 18 seats, this will definitely hurt the confidence of the party leaders. In fact, in every election rally in Maharashtra, Congress leaders kept raising the issue of Modi government’s alliance with Adani Group, but the results have made it clear that such allegations have no impact on the elections.
