Bhopal, 19 February (HS). Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha has requested the Central Government to issue new guidelines for the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission in the interest of the beneficiaries. He has written a letter to Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Arjun Munda on Monday, in which he has said that the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission is running since the year 2005-06 with the cooperation of the Central and State Government for the overall development of horticulture. Horticulture has developed due to the efforts made under this.
Minister Kushwaha said in his letter that in the review of the activities of the mission, it was found that due to not issuing new guidelines, some components of the mission are facing obstacles in achieving the goals. He said that the cost of setting up a unit and prices of related inputs have increased in the last decade. As a result, marginal and small beneficiaries are not coming forward to take advantage of the activities of the Mission.
Request to release the fourth installment of Prime Minister Micro Food Enterprises Upgradation Scheme
Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha has requested to release the fourth installment of the Prime Minister Micro Food Enterprises Upgradation Scheme. He wrote a letter to Union Food Processing Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras informing him that Madhya Pradesh is making efforts to set up 4860 units. Action plans have been made at the state, district and block level. An action plan worth Rs 16004.10 lakh has been approved for the current financial year.
