Lucknow, July 12 (HS). MA and BA courses in Pali subject will soon be started through ODL system in the Central Sanskrit University (Lucknow Campus).
In the 'Practical Pali Grammar Teaching Workshop' organized by Buddhist Philosophy and Pali Vidyashakha, Professor Dr. Prafulla Gadpal said that 'Pali can be taught easily using modern technical knowledge and language teaching techniques. Pali can be taken to every household in India through innovative learning. Today, an innovative teaching system of Pali is being developed through social media.
At present, the Pali course of 'Pathama-Dikkha' level has been prepared by the Pali Study Centre of Lucknow Campus with the inspiration of the visionary Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Srinivas Varkhedi. In future, learning Pali will become easy with its help. Similarly, the booklets prepared by Dr. Prafulla Gadpal for education from KG-1 to Class-8 will also prove helpful in learning Pali.
Dr. Gadpal said that despite the many differences between Pali and Sanskrit languages, there are many similarities from the grammatical point of view. It is very easy for a person who knows Sanskrit to learn Pali. It is also true that Pali is a much simpler language than Sanskrit. There is no dual number in this language and since all the words end in vowels, the level of difficulty in Pali is greatly reduced. The teachings etc. found in Pali literature are directly and straightforward. Since there are no complexities anywhere, Pali can be easily learned and understood. Since Pali words are used in large numbers in Indian languages, it is very easy for Indians to learn this language.
