Will the lunar eclipse be visible in the country?
In Hinduism, the Sutak period before a solar or lunar eclipse is considered inauspicious. This period begins about nine hours before the eclipse. Religious and auspicious activities are not performed during this period. However, the lunar eclipse on September 18 will occur during the day and is not found in India. This will not follow the Sutak period.

The lunar eclipse will begin at 8:41 pm EDT (0141 GMT, Sept. 18). People in Europe, North and South America, Russia and Asia will be able to see it. The best time to see the lunar eclipse is at 10:44 pm EDT (0341 GMT, Sept. 18. The partial lunar eclipse will end at 12:47 pm EDT (0547 GMT, Sept. 18).
Importance of Lunar Eclipse
Lunar eclipse has religious and cultural significance in Hinduism. But the eclipse should not be seen with naked eyes. Therefore, it is not considered to have any religious significance. The lunar eclipse on September 18 will not be visible in India. For this reason, no religious rituals or worship related to the lunar eclipse will be organized.
