News India Live, Digital Desk: Yogi government has given green signal to a big and ambitious project to connect Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, with many important western districts of the state and to give a new pace to industrial development. One from Lucknow to Bareilly 250 kilometers long, 6-lane A state-of-the-art greenfield expressway will be built, which will be ‘Science Corridor’ Has been named. This corridor will not only halve the travel time, but will also open new doors of development for all the districts falling in its path.

Why was it named ‘Science Corridor’?

There is a special purpose behind naming this expressway ‘Science Corridor’. This expressway will connect Lucknow with cities like Bareilly and Rampur, where science-based industries like pharmaceutical (drug manufacturing), biotechnology and agro-processing are developing rapidly. The objective of this corridor is to create a fast and easy way for these industries, so that transportation of raw materials and finished products can be done easily. This corridor will help in developing this entire area as a big industrial corridor.

Through which 5 districts will this corridor pass?

This ambitious expressway will connect a total of five important districts:

  1. Lucknow
  2. Hardoi
  3. Shahjahanpur
  4. Rampur
  5. Bareilly

Apart from these districts, this corridor will also indirectly benefit the surrounding areas like Sitapur.

What will be the benefits of this corridor?

  • Travel time will be halved: Currently, it takes 6 to 7 hours to go from Lucknow to Bareilly by bus or car. After the construction of this expressway, this distance will be just 3 to 3.5 hours This can be completed in 100 days, which will save both time and fuel of the people.
  • Will get relief from jam: This corridor will be built completely new (greenfield), which means it will be different from the existing roads. This will completely get rid of the traffic jams within the cities.
  • Industrial development will gain momentum: As its name suggests, this corridor will give a big boost to pharma, bio-tech and agro-based industries. It will become easier for industries to reach Lucknow, Delhi and other big markets.
  • Local people will get employment: The construction of the expressway and the industrial areas developing along it will create thousands of new employment opportunities for the local people.

Land acquisition will start soon

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has appointed an agency to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of this project. The process of land acquisition will be started soon after the report is finalized. The construction of this expressway will add a new chapter to the development story of Uttar Pradesh.
