New Delhi, August 13 (HS). Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena led five thousand students of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) schools in the “Tiranga Yatra”. After that, an Ayurvedic dispensary was also inaugurated at NDMC Chest Polyclinic, Baird Line, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg (near Shivaji Stadium), New Delhi. On this occasion, LG honored Aman Sehrawat, bronze medalist in wrestling at Paris Olympics 2024. Also, NDMC appointed Aman Sehrawat as NDMC Brand Ambassador.
Congratulating all those who participated in the Tiranga Yatra, Lt Governor Saxena said that on August 8 this year, the Central Government has announced the third edition of 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, which will run from August 9 to August 15, 2024. This celebration of Indian independence begins a week before Independence Day every year. India is all set to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on August 15 this year. He said that the freedom we have got from the British rule came at a great cost. Remembering the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, it is our duty to remember them to draw more inspiration from them for the protection, development and progress of the nation.
He said that the aim of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is to unite the nation and remember the country's freedom struggle by instilling the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of citizens. The aim of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign is that every citizen of the country should bring the national flag to his home and hoist it. The LG praised the spirit of the students and emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices for India's independence. He also highlighted the role of youth in shaping the future of the country.
In the Tiranga Yatra, students of NDMC schools along with dignitaries covered the route of A Block, Inner Circle, Connaught Place. Around five thousand school students, teachers, parents, other individuals and officers and employees of NDMC participated in the Tiranga Yatra carrying the national flag with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The 'Tiranga Yatra' campaign launched to commemorate India's 78th Independence Day saw enthusiastic participation from students across the city, with NDMC-Atal Adarsh and Navyug schools taking the lead. The students participated in various activities including Tiranga Yatra, Tiranga Shraddhanjali, Tiranga Pledge, Tiranga Canvas as well as quiz, painting competition, speech, patriotic songs and human chain, all centered on the theme of the national flag.
Inauguration of Ayurvedic dispensary-
After leading the Tiranga Yatra, LG Delhi inaugurated an Ayurvedic Dispensary at NDMC Chest Polyclinic, Baird Line, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg (near Shivaji Stadium), New Delhi. Inaugurating the Ayurvedic Dispensary, LG said that the polyclinic complex, which currently houses Allopathic and Homeopathic dispensaries as well as a Chest Clinic, has now been further enriched with the addition of an Ayurvedic Dispensary. This additional facility addresses the long-standing demand of the Residents Welfare Association (RWA) and the local community for more comprehensive healthcare services.
