Along with the cylinder prices, an important administrative change has also been implemented for domestic LPG consumers across the country. Under the new guidelines of the Petroleum Ministry and Oil Marketing Companies, Aadhaar-based e-KYC (Biometric Aadhaar Authentication) has been made mandatory for domestic gas connections from October 1. The main objective of this system is to completely eliminate fake, double and benami LPG connections and to stop illegal diversion of subsidy. All legitimate consumers have been advised to complete their biometric KYC process through face authentication and fingerprint by visiting the showroom of their gas agency (Indane, Bharat Gas or HP Gas) or through the authorized mobile app, so that there is no technical interruption in their gas booking and subsidy transfer in future.
To avoid any middleman or wrong information, consumers can directly visit Indian Oil’s official website iocl.com to check the latest rates of domestic and commercial gas as per the pin code of their district. Apart from this, new rates can also be confirmed in one click through the registered WhatsApp number or mobile app of your respective gas agency (like Indane Oil App, Bharatgas App or HP Pay App).
