LPG may become cheaper, Petroleum Minister said – If the prices of crude oil remain stable in the international market, petrol and diesel will become cheaper

New Delhi: The Central Government has informed that the prices of LPG in the country may reduce further in the coming days. The prices of not only LPG but also piped cooking gas may also come down. However, as far as reduction in retail prices of petrol and diesel in the domestic market is concerned, it will have to wait for the stabilization of crude oil prices in the international market.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that if international conditions remain good and crude oil prices remain stable, then retail prices of petrol and diesel may come down in the near future. However, government oil companies are still incurring losses in diesel sales. A day ago, PM Narendra Modi had announced a reduction in the price of LPG in the country by Rs 100 per cylinder. A day before this, it was also announced that the subsidy given on subsidized gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme will continue till March 2025. Congress and some other opposition parties have called it an election gimmick of the government. On this, Petroleum Minister Puri said that the opposition parties have immediately divided. Keeping in view the Lok Sabha elections, he is looking for issues. If the government has given relief to the poor women and sisters of the country then they should welcome it.
