Bengaluru: Not only girls but also boys are being sexually exploited in the state. Every year a large number of such cases are being registered in the state, which are a mirror of distorted personality.

114 cases of violence against boys have been registered in the state in the last four years. Till the end of last October, 33 POCSO cases have been registered in the state. The data given by the police department showed that out of 114 cases registered, only 7 cases have resulted in conviction and the remaining cases are under investigation.

24 cases in 2021, 25 cases in 2022, 33 cases in 2023 and 32 cases this year. 17 cases of sexual violence against boys have been reported in Bengaluru city in four years.

In most cases of sexual violence against boys, men are the accused. Women are made accused in fingerprinting cases. In December last year, a POCSO case was registered against the teacher at Kencharahalli police station in Chikkaballapur district. During an educational trip, he took an obscene photo of a Class 10 student and it went viral on social media.

The police registered the case, conducted investigation and submitted the charge sheet in the court. The investigation of the matter is going on. Similarly, 107 cases are pending and all these cases have to be resolved by the police.

When boys go out to play they are abused. Neighbors, family members, acquaintances and close relatives are misbehaving with the boys by taking obscene photographs, touching their private parts and sexually harassing them.
