From 1991 to 1998, BJP's Jagatveer Singh Drona won and from 1999 to 2009, Congress's Shriprakash Jaiswal won the general elections. Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi of BJP became MP in 2014 elections. BJP candidate Satyadev Pachauri won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and bloomed lotus here. Congress has won this seat 6 times and BJP 5 times. Kanpur Lok Sabha seat is among those seats from where BSP and SP never opened their accounts. Independent SM Banerjee, BJP's Jagatveer Singh Drona and Congress's Shriprakash Jaiswal have made a record of hat-trick of victories on this seat.

Let us tell you, there was an alliance of SP-BSP in this election.

Mathematics of victory and challenges
This time, along with local issues, national issues also seem to be dominating the Kanpur Lok Sabha elections. Kanpur seat is in Congress's account due to alliance with SP. It remains to be seen whether SP will be able to transfer Muslim votes to Congress. Also, how far can Congress reach with the Lunge-Punj organization? BSP's Kuldeep Singh Bhadauria is also registering his presence in many areas. This contest is likely to be interesting. All parties are focusing on minority votes, especially BJP. Two lakh Jain, Sikh and Christian voters have the power to change the election results.
According to political analyst Sushil Shukla, if Muslim voters centralize and vote for the India Alliance, then the fight for BJP will be tough. Because BJP has bet on the new candidate. Which is not even particularly famous. However, the mood has changed after the visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Yogi Adityanath.
