Lucknow, 12 April (HS). In compliance with the Model Code of Conduct, on April 11, the licenses of 14 licensed weapons were canceled and deposited. Taking preventive action under CrPC, 43714 people have been banned. Besides, 217 unlicensed illegal weapons, 233 cartridges and 34 bombs were recovered and seized. Police raided 106 centers manufacturing illegal weapons and 06 centers were seized.
Chief Electoral Officer of the state Navdeep Rinwa said on Friday that after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, it is being strictly followed by the Police, Income Tax, Excise, Narcotics and other departments. For intensive checking, 513 inter-state check posts and 1843 check posts are operated within the state. From March 16 to April 11, the police department seized 483 licensed weapons from criminal persons. Licenses of 4098 licensed weapons were canceled and deposited.
Similarly, while taking preventive action under CrPC, notices were sent to ban 22,44,118 people. Of these, 15,60,732 people have been banned. Apart from this, the police department has recovered and seized 5774 unlicensed illegal weapons, 5895 cartridges, 2144.5 kg explosives and 314 bombs. Police raided 2024 centers manufacturing illegal weapons and seized 103 centres.
