Khunti, June 22 (HS). Lord Shri Jagannath Swami went into seclusion for fifteen days with brother Badabhadra and sister Subhadra after the Mahasnan on Jyeshtha Purnima. The Lord will give darshan to the devotees on the day of Rath Yatra on July 7. The Mahasnan ritual was performed with due rituals in the Sri Jagannath temple located at Kotengsera in Torpa. In the morning, water was brought from the Karo river in a pot. The idols of Lord Jagannath, sister Subhadra and brother Balabhadra were bathed with milk, water and fragrant substance and Maha Aarti was performed. Prasad was distributed after the afternoon bhog. The temple doors were closed after the evening Aarti. The temple doors will open after the Netra ritual a day before the Rath Yatra. The ritual was performed by Shripad Mangal Nilay Das Prabhu.
Sankirtan Yatra was taken out in the morning. Women took part in the yatra with urns on their foreheads. Sankirtan Yatra started from Jagannath Temple and reached Karo River. There the urn was filled with holy water of the river. The devotees returned to the temple while doing Sankirtan.
Lord Jagannath fell ill after taking bath, will be treated with herbs
Shripad Nilay Das Prabhu told that the controller of the world, Lord Shri Jagannath falls ill after Mahasnan. The Lord will remain in isolation for 15 days. For fifteen days, he is treated in the same way as ordinary people are treated. Ayurvedic herbs and decoctions are offered to the Lord. After getting well, the Lord will sit in the sanctum sanctorum on the day of Netra Anushthan. On the day of Rath Yatra, he will ride on a chariot along with brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra to give darshan to the devotees.
