Ujjain, 13 October (HIST). The routine of Lord Mahakal will change from the Pratipada date of Kartik Krishna Paksha on 18th October in the world famous Jyotirlinga Lord Mahakaleshwar temple. During winter season, Avantikanath will delay his meal by half an hour in the morning. In Bhasma Aarti, God will be bathed with hot water. The timing of three out of the five aartis happening daily will also change. This sequence of changes in routine will continue till Phalgun Purnima.
Pandit Mahesh Pujari told on Sunday that in the worship tradition of Mahakal temple, the daily routine of God changes every six months due to summer and winter. At present the Lord's daily routine is going on according to the summer season. The Lord is bathing with cold water, but Pratipada of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month is considered to be the beginning of winter in the temple. From this day Lord Mahakal starts bathing with hot water instead of cold water. Besides, the time of Aarti also changes.
He told that at present Dadyodak i.e. Balbhog Aarti is being performed every day at seven in the morning. In this Aarti, curd and rice are offered to the Lord. This aarti will be held from 7.30 am from 18th October. Similarly, currently Bhog Aarti is taking place at 10 am. In this, offerings of pulses, rice, bread, vegetables and sweets are made to the Lord. That means God is having food at 10 in the morning. At the same time, Bhog Aarti will be held from October 18 at 10.30 am. Its meaning is that in winter, God will delay food by half an hour. Presently the evening aarti is being performed at 7 pm, but from October 18, the evening aarti will be performed every day from 6.30 pm, because the sunset starts early in winter.
Apart from this, Bhasma Aarti to be held at 4 am every day and Shayan Aarti to be held at 10.30 pm will be held at the same scheduled time. The time of evening puja, which is scheduled for 5 pm, will also remain the same.
