Mathura, 11 September (HS). Radhastami is being celebrated in Braj. 15 days after Shri Krishna Janam Utsav, the biggest festival in Braj was held today. Lakhs of devotees have reached Brajbhoomi. When Radharani descended in Barsana, she was anointed with 11 quintals of Panchamrit.
When Radharani was born on Wednesday morning on Radhastami, cheers resounded everywhere. Devotees thronged from all four directions to have darshan. A crowd of lakhs gathered to have darshan of the deity. Before the birth, at two o'clock in the night, after the singing of congratulations, the Ladli temple resounded with Vedic mantras at four o'clock. Mangal Badhaiyan was sung from two o'clock in the night. In this, verses of Dai, Maan, Sanvasani, Nain, Naamkaran Leelas were presented. Bells and gongs started ringing in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple from four o'clock in the morning on Wednesday. Devotees were chanting Radharani's praises. When the sevayats placed the idol revealed by Brajacharya Narayan Bhatt on a silver pedestal, the pedestal smiled on its good fortune with the beauty of lotus flowers. The acharyas of the sevayat families of the temple started chanting Vedic mantras. Radharani, born in the Mool Nakshatra, was anointed for one hour continuously from four o'clock in the morning on Wednesday.
The idol of Vrishbhanu Nandani was anointed with milk, curd, honey, cow ghee, perfume, sugar, leaves of 27 trees, dust from 27 places, water from 27 wells, seven grains, seven dry fruits and seven fruits. She was also bathed with water from seven rivers including Yamuna. After the anointment, the Maharani was made to wear a yellow dress at 5:30 am. On seeing Radha's birth, the devotees started chanting Barsane Wali Ki Jai, Vrishbhanu Nandani Ki Jai. The servants performed the aarti of the couple. At around eight in the morning, Radharani gave darshan to the devotees from the Sheesh Mahal. In the joy of the incarnation of Krishna's Alhadini Shakti, people from Nandgaon reached with greetings on the second day as well. After congratulating Vrishbhanu ji on the birth of Laali, these people danced vigorously in Vrishbhanotsav.
