Jaunpur, 07 July (HS). On Sunday, Shodashopachar Puja of the idols of Lord Jagannath, Shri Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra was performed at Shri Jagannath Dham Ras Mandal under the guidance of Acharya Dr. Rajnikant Dwivedi. This Puja was jointly performed by the main hosts Dr. Smita Srivastava and Dr. Rajneesh Srivastava. They also performed Aarti while worshipping the idol of the Lord. After this, the general public got the darshan of the Lord after the Shahi Khichdi was offered.
Thousands of devotees enjoyed the divine darshan of the Lord and the prasad of Shahi Khichdi. In the evening, Lord Shri Jagannath, Shri Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra were placed on the chariot and the Rath Yatra was taken out. The Chairman of the Rath Yatra Festival Shashank Singh and the Chairman of the Nagar Palika Manorama Maurya and Dr. Ram Surat Maurya started the Rath Yatra by performing aarti of Lord Shri Jagannath, Shri Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra seated on the chariot and breaking a coconut.
In the huge Rath Yatra, thousands of eminent people of the district including senior BJP leader Shyam Mohan Agarwal, Shri Durga Puja Mahasamiti President Anil Asthana, Navdurga Shiv Mandir Chief Trustee Nikhlesh Singh pulled the chariot with their hands. This chariot passed through Manik Chowk, Raja Phatak, Sutahatti Chauraha, Kotwali Chauraha, Chaharsu Chauraha, Olandganj, Navdurga Shiv Mandir, Sadbhavna Bridge, Shahi Qila and ended at Jagannath Dham located at Ras Mandal.
On the way, the entire team welcomed the chariot under the leadership of District President of Vyapar Mandal Vivek Singh, Sudhir Sahu of Bol Bam Kanwaria Sangh, District President of Anaaj Vyapar Mandal Dinesh Tandon, Ganesh Sahu. At the same time, the goldsmith community, Yogesh Bhatia and other social organizations and people showered flowers on the chariot at various places.
The Krishna-Sudama group from Pratapgarh chanted the Lord's name all along the way. The wonderful tableau was the center of attraction for all the devotees. All sections of the society extended their commendable cooperation in ensuring that the Rath Yatra is completed successfully. Rath Yatra Festival Committee Chairman Shashank Singh and General Secretary Shivshankar Sahu jointly greeted everyone and expressed their gratitude.
