Jhansi, 05 July (HS). The grand Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will start from the Jagannath Ji temple located at Gola Kuan in the city on 07 July at 5 pm. The preparations for which are almost complete. The committee will distribute yellow rice to the devotees in the markets on 06 July to invite them to the Rath Yatra.
Shri Bhagwan Jagannath Swami Mandir Seva Samiti's president Sanjay Naurai and social workers Pandit Piyush Rawat and Manmohan Geda told in a press conference that the glory of Lord Jagannath and the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath are described in religious texts like Brahma Purana, Narada Purana, Skanda Purana etc. All wishes are fulfilled by participating in the Rath Yatra with devotion and reverence.
He said that the temple of Jagannath Ji located at Gola Kuan is 184 years old. Like every year, this year too, a grand Rath Yatra will be taken out from the temple on Sunday, the second day of Ashadh Shukla Paksha. Chhappan bhog will be offered to the Lord in the afternoon. A grand flower bungalow will be decorated. Maha Aarti will be held at 5 in the evening. Sankirtan will be done especially by the devotees of ISKCON temple in the Rath Yatra of Jagannath Ji. Pushya Nakshatra will be there on this day.
The Rath Yatra will reach the temple via major markets like Gandhigar Ka Tapra, Sarafa Bazar, Manik Chowk, Subhash Ganj, Bada Bazar, Kotwali Ki Dhal etc. In the Rath Yatra, devotees will pull the chariot of Lord Jagannath Ji by holding it with ropes. The Rath Yatra will be given a grand welcome at various places.
