Prayagraj, 07 July (HS). The divine Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath was taken out with royal pomp by Shri Jagannathji Mahotsav Samiti Trust under the leadership of Chairman Durga Prasad Gupta and Rath Yatra Convenor Basant Lal Azad. Former Minister Gagan Das Gupta worshipped Lord Jagannath with Shodashopachar rituals. Thereafter, he was placed on Nandi Ghosh Rath along with brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra and was anointed with lotus flower, Tulsi leaf, Gangajal, peacock feather, conch, Panch Phal Panch Meva and Maha Aarti of 101 Deep Jyoti Mala was performed.
The Rath Yatra was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Ujjwal Raman Singh, Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalya Nand Giri of the Kinnar Akhara, Jayaram Gupta, Dau Dayal Gupta, Kumar Narayan, Vijay Vaishya, Rajesh Kesarwani, Annu Gupta, Satish Kesarwani, programme coordinator Triloki Kesarwani, Kanhaiya Lal Gupta, Women's President Poonam Gupta by breaking a coconut and pulling the rope of the Rath Yatra.
Rajesh Kesarwani, co-coordinator of the Rath Yatra, said that Lord Ganesha, Varun Dev Hanumanji Maharaj, Lord Narasimha and the five Pandavas welcomed the Rath Yatra. Besides this, Lord Indra on the Airavat elephant, Krishna Balram, Krishna Sudama, the tableau of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ram Darbar from Moradabad by the artists of Kerala and the magnificent tableau of Radha Krishna's Maharas, Lord Jagannath's Mridang Dal, Damru Dal from Kashi, Band Baja from Moradabad, DJ Band, Pipe Band were beautifying the Rath Yatra by mesmerizing the devotees.
The Rath Yatra started from Arya Bhawan Zero Road and passed through its fixed route Agrasen Chauraha, Chameli Bai Dharamshala Jansenganj, Ghantaghar Loknath Chauraha, Bahadurganj, Ram Bhawan Mutthiganj, Hatia Police Booth, Bans Mandi, Baluaghat, Katghar and took rest at Prayageshwar Nath Lord Jagannath's Dham located in Kashi Rajnagar. At various places on the Rath Yatra route, devotees welcomed the Rath Yatra by performing aarti and darshan of Lord Jagannath. Prominent among those present in the Rath Yatra were councilor Nem Yadav, Annu Gupta, Triloki Kesarwani, Happy Kasera, Amar Rastogi, Kanhaiyalal Gupta, women president Poonam Gupta, Lata Upadhyay, Sushil Jain, Sumit Kesarwani, Sunil Tandon, Ram Prakash, Ajay Agrahari, Harshit, Ram Sajeevan Shukla and thousands of devotees pulled the chariot of Lord Jagannath while chanting slogans.
