Manipur Violence: One person was killed and another injured in Manipur’s Jiribam district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Athoba. It is being told that he was injured in the firing by the security forces to control the angry crowd and the situation. The incident happened around 11 pm.

What was the incident?
On Sunday night, an angry mob vandalized and vandalized the BJP and Congress offices at Babupura in Jiribam district. The angry mob took out the furniture of the respective offices and set it on fire. The security forces then opened fire to disperse the crowd and deal with the situation. During this time, a bullet hit Athouba, due to which he got injured and later he died. The incident took place about 500 meters away from Jiribam police station.

Fire broke out in MLA’s house

Officials said protesters attacked Public Works Minister Govinddas Konthoujam and BJP MLA Y in Ningthaukhong. Radeshyam set fire to the houses of BJP MLA Ponam Brojen in Thobal district and Congress MLA Lokeshwar in Imphal East district. It is noteworthy that during this time the MLA and his family members were not present at home. The houses were completely gutted before fire brigade personnel could reach the spot and control the fire. The protesters also tried to storm the ancestral residence of Chief Minister Biren Singh in Imphal East area on Saturday night, but the security forces stopped them 100-200 meters in advance. The mob then burnt tires and blocked vehicular traffic on the main road leading to Biren’s house.

According to an official account of the violence, extremists set fire to at least two churches and three houses in the town of Jiribam overnight. There have also been reports of rioters setting more fires, but these claims have not yet been independently confirmed. There were reports of arson and mob attack on the houses of 13 MLAs overnight in Imphal Valley. Nine MLAs were from BJP. Just as the violence seemed to be subsiding, a mob demanding to meet BJP MLA Kongarkham Robindro vandalized his ancestral house in Imphal West on Sunday evening, police said.

Security forces have cordoned off the violence-hit area

According to the information, security forces have established 107 canals and checkposts in the frontline areas in the violence-hit areas, which include both hill and valley areas. No suspect has been detained for any violation at this check post, which is having a positive impact on the presence of security forces.

Under this search operation, security forces have ensured safe movement of 456 vehicles loaded with essential commodities on National Highway-2. Amit Shah will hold a meeting

The Home Minister had canceled his political program from Maharashtra and reached Delhi on Sunday, after which the Home Minister also held a meeting with senior officials in Delhi.
