On Wednesday, bike-borne robbers threatened a health worker at the railway crossing near Sarvodaya Inter College in Kapsethi police station area and snatched Rs 5 lakh and fled from the spot. On receiving information from the victim, officers along with the regional police also reached the spot. After interrogating the health worker, the police officers also examined the CCTV footage of the bank and the surrounding areas.
Vijay Kumar, resident of Kapsethi Rasulah area, is a pharmacist in Ayurvedic Hospital in Sonbhadra district. Vijay Kumar’s sister’s daughter is getting married next week. Vijay Kumar reached the State Bank of India branch located at Kapsethi Bazaar in the afternoon to purchase items for his niece’s wedding. Here he withdrew five lakh rupees from his account and left for his sister’s house. As soon as Vijay Kumar reached the railway crossing ahead of the market, the crossing was closed due to the arrival of the train and he stopped there. Meanwhile, suddenly two youths riding a bike came there from behind and threatened Vijay with a pistol. After this, they took out five lakh rupees kept in the trunk of their vehicle and ran away. When the victim raised an alarm, people nearby also gathered. On the spot, the police also interrogated the victim and the people nearby. It is believed that the robbers had followed Vijay Kumar from the bank branch itself. The police team also examined the CCTV footage of the bank branch. According to police officers, the robbers are being searched on the basis of their appearance. On receiving information about the incident, ADCP Akash Patel and ACP Rajatalab also reached there. Both the officers investigated the spot for a long time, but the police could not find any clue of the robbers.
