Prayagraj, 15 December (HS). All India Executive Member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Suresh Soni said that Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s philosophy of public welfare state is extremely relevant even today. We can take inspiration from them. He dedicated his entire life to the protection of Sanatan culture and social welfare. During her reign, Ahilyabai Holkar reestablished the values of life which had weakened during foreign invasions. His life journey was from ‘Rajshree to Rajarshi’.

Suresh Soni expressed this view as the chief guest at the birth centenary celebrations of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar organized at the MP Auditorium of Motilal Nehru Institute of Technology, Teliarganj on Sunday. He said that the ideals of Lokmata are still an inspiration for Sangh work. It is a happy coincidence that Lokmata was born in the year 1725 and exactly 200 years later, in 1925, the RSS was established. He also said that the continuous flow of Indian culture is due to its revival from time to time by our great men. In Indian society, men and women complement each other and all our symbols reflect this.

Captain Meera Siddharth Dave, the special guest at the function, said that Lokmata was a complete leader like great women like Ahilyabai, Gargi and Maitreyi. He managed both religion and state judiciously. During his reign, he gave women the knowledge of both weapons and scriptures.

Special guest Holkar dynasty representative Uday Raje Holkar said that the resolution of RSS to take the work of Lokmata to the common people is welcome. He renovated many temples from Badarika Ashram to Kashi and Dwarka and, showing foresight during his reign, also built a Sun Clock and the Almanac of Holkar State in his capital.

Dr. Kirtika Aggarwal, convenor of the ceremony, said that Lokmata reestablished our values of life through her spiritual practice and social service, which makes us feel proud even today. The program was conducted by Shalu Kesarwani and the life struggle of Lokmata was effectively presented through Lavani dance and drama presentation presented by the girls of Narayan Ashram.
