Dharamshala, July 25 (HS). Dr Rajiv Bhardwaj, MP from Kangra Lok Sabha constituency has demanded opening of a Sainik School in Nurpur area of Kangra district and a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Churah of Chamba district.
Speaking during Zero Hour in Lok Sabha on Thursday, he raised the demand for opening a National Institute of Technology in Chamba district and said that the Central Government institute NHPC has sufficient surplus land in the area which is sufficient to open an NIT institute.
He said that at present the only NIT institute in Himachal Pradesh is functioning in Hamirpur and in view of the increasing demand for higher education of the students, NIT institute should be opened in Chamba.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, MP Dr Rajiv Bhardwaj said that being a backward district, the Central Government has declared Chamba district as an “Aspiring District” in the year 2018 so that infrastructure facilities in the area can be strengthened.
Amount of Rs 86.87 lakh and Rs 223 lakh approved for Government District Library Bilaspur and Central State Library Solan
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the Central Government has approved an amount of Rs 86.87 lakh and Rs 223 lakh respectively to the Government District Library Bilaspur and Central State Library Solan under the National Mission of Libraries.
He informed that out of this approved amount, an amount of Rs 74.66 lakh has been released to the Government District Library Bilaspur so far, whereas the approved amount will be released to the Central State Library Solan soon.
