Jagdalpur, March 22 (HS). With the establishment of more than 90 security camps in the Naxal-affected areas of Bastar division, an area of about 3000 square kilometers has been freed from Naxalites. Due to the strong presence of security forces in the base areas of Naxalites, in comparison to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, there will be 105 villages where villagers will be able to vote in their own villages.

It may be noted that in the year 2019, there were 289 Naxal sensitive polling stations, whose locations were changed. This time in the year 2024, there are 234 such centres, out of which 99 are in Bijapur, 42 in Dantewada, 42 in Konta, 41 in Narayanpur, 09 in Kanker and 01 in Jagdalpur. On this basis, villagers of 55 villages will be able to vote in their own villages this time. The number of polling stations was 1878 in the last election, which has now been increased to 1957. On this basis, 79 new polling stations have been created, out of which more than 50 centers have been made in Naxal sensitive villages.

It is noteworthy that after the change of power in the state, the new BJP government has directly attacked the roots of the Naxalites and destroyed their strongest fort. A series of security camps have been set up in the most secure base area of Naxalites in South Bastar. Establishing a camp in Purvi, the home village of Naxalite commander Hidma, which was the center of operations of Naxalite activities in Bastar. Giving a befitting reply to Naxalite terrorism, camps were established in Padia, Muler, Salatong, Murkarajkonda, Duled, Tekulgudem within two months. The stronghold of Gangalur Area Committee under West Bastar Division, the second most powerful Naxal organization operating in Bastar, has also been demolished.

According to police officials, after Dumri Palanhar, Palnar, Chintavagu, Kanwadgaon, Mutavendi, security forces have registered their strong presence by setting up camps in Putkel, Gundem in Bijapur district. Security forces have also started operations in Abujhmad. Where security camps have been set up in Kasturmeta of Narayanpur, Maspur and Panidobir of Kanker. In these areas, work is being done to provide benefits of government schemes to the villagers by opening roads, electricity, water, schools and hospitals. Due to this, the confidence of rural voters has shifted from the republic of Naxalites to democracy. The proof of this has been proved by the rural voters of Naxalgarh of Bastar division by voting 75.62 percent in the assembly elections held a few months ago.
