Lok Sabha Elections: Congress' Star-Chandru is the richest candidate in the second phase, total assets Rs 622 crore

Lok Sabha elections are going on in the country and the first phase of voting has taken place. Now that the second phase of voting is approaching, the list of the richest candidates of the second phase of Lok Sabha elections has come out. According to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the richest candidate in the second phase is Star Chandru, better known as Congress candidate Venkatraman Gowda, who has a net worth of Rs. More than 600 crores.

According to ADR report, the richest Lok Sabha candidate Star Chandru has a net worth of Rs. 622.97 crore, which he had stated in the affidavit attached with the Lok Sabha nomination papers. Venkatraman Gowda, Congress candidate from Old Mysore Mandya seat in the Lok Sabha elections, has stated in his affidavit that his annual income is Rs 16.28 crore.

Defeated the richest candidate of the last election

Besumar Dolat owner Star Chandru, D.K. proved to be the richest candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Suresh has also been left behind. According to the ADR report, Venkatraman Gowda has declared current assets worth Rs 2,12,78,08,148 and immovable assets worth Rs 4,10,19,20,693. Thus his total wealth is Rs 6,22,97,28,841. The special thing is that there is no agricultural land in the name of Star Chandru. He has told that his wife Kusuma Gowda has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 329.32 crore.

Star Chandru will face HD Kumaraswamy

Venkatraman Gowda alias Star Chandru is a contractor by profession and brother of KH Pattaswamy Gowda, the independent MLA elected from Gauribidanur. Pattaswamy is also currently in Congress. Gowda holds a BSc degree from Bengaluru University. His contest on Mandya seat is with NDA candidate and JDS state president H.D. Will be against Kumaraswamy.
