Patna (Bihar), 23 April (HIST). In the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, voting was held on four out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar on April 19, in which 47 percent voting took place. On the other hand, Congress has announced all the candidates for the remaining 36 Lok Sabha seats. In one of the hottest seats, the Congress Party has fielded Dr. Anshul Avijit, son of former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, as its candidate from Patna Sahib.
After the announcement of the ticket, it has been decided that Anshul will now face BJP candidate Ravi Shankar directly from Patna Sahib seat. BJP has made Ravi Shankar Prasad its candidate from this seat. Anshul is also the grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister of India and Dalit leader Jagjivan Ram. Anshul Avijit has completed his doctorate from Cambridge. Earlier, the Congress Party had made him the national spokesperson.
Ravi Shankar Prasad was elected MP from this seat in the last Lok Sabha elections. This time too BJP has again fielded him. Earlier, Congress had announced seven candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. In this, five candidates were from Bihar only.
Congress gets nine seats from Bihar in electoral mathematics.
1. Katihar- Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar is in the fray from here. He had also formed a separate party NCP along with Sharad Pawar but then left NCP and returned to Congress. Last time he was defeated by JDU's Dulal Chand Goswami in Katihar. This time JDU has again given ticket to Dulal Chand Goswami. Tariq Anwar has been MP five times. If he wins again then politics will be his six in cricket. He is in conflict with JDU's Dulalchand Goswami.
2. Kishanganj- JDU candidate from here is Mujahid Alam. AIMIM candidate Akhtarul Iman is also in the fray here. Congress has again given ticket to Mohd. Javed here. In the last Lok Sabha elections 2019, Mohd. It was Javed who saved the reputation of the Grand Alliance. He defeated Syed Mahmood Ashraf of JDU.
3. Bhagalpur- Here Ajay Mandal from JDU is in the fray against Ajit Sharma of Congress. Ajay Mandal had defeated RJD's Shailesh Kumar in the last Lok Sabha elections. Congress is making a big experiment of social engineering by fielding Ajit Sharma of Bhumihar caste in the OBC area. Sharma is MLA from Bhagalpur.
4. Maharajganj- Here BJP's Janardan Singh Sigriwal is facing Congress's Akash Prasad Singh. Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh first succeeded in sending himself to Rajya Sabha for the second time and then succeeded in getting his son Akash a ticket from Maharajganj.
5. Sasaram- Here Shivesh Ram of BJP is facing Manoj Kumar of Congress. Here BJP canceled the ticket of sitting MP Chhedi Paswan. After this, there was continuous discussion that Chhedi could take membership of Congress but Congress did not include him in the party and gave the ticket to Manoj Kumar. Manoj Kumar was also associated with VIP. His mother Yashoda Devi remained with Congress all her life.
Manoj had fought the last Lok Sabha elections from Sasaram on BSP ticket. Studied Rural Development from IGNOU. Meira Kumar, five-time MP from Sasaram, had announced that she would no longer contest the elections. Meira Kumar's husband comes from Kushwaha caste. Therefore his son cannot contest elections from the reserved seat of Sasaram.
6. Samastipur- The competition here has become interesting. Congress has given ticket to Sunny Hazari, son of JDU leader Maheshwar Hazari. He will face JDU leader Ashok Chaudhary's daughter Shambhavi LJP (Ra), which means there is a political contest between the children of two leaders of the same party. Last time, LJP's Ramchandra Paswan had won the elections from here and defeated Congress's Ashok Kumar. After the death of Ramchandra Paswan, by-election was held here and Ramchandra Paswan's son Prince Raj won the election. Congress had fielded Dr. Ashok Ram only.
7. Muzaffarpur- Here BJP had canceled the ticket of Ajay Nishad and given the ticket to Rajbhushan Chaudhary. After this Ajay Nishad rebelled and took membership of Congress. Now Congress has given him ticket from Muzaffarpur. Last time, Ajay Nishad of BJP had won from here and he defeated Rajbhushan Chaudhary of VIP.
8. West Champaran- From here, Congress's Manoj Mohan Tiwari will face BJP's Sanjay Jaiswal. Madan Mohan Tiwari is MA and LLB. He has been the chief and block chief. Won the assembly elections from Majholia in the year 2015. Then he defeated former minister Renu Devi.
9. Patna Sahib- On this seat, Meira Kumar's son is contesting against BJP MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
