Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad seat in Kerala. Voting is to be held here on 26th April. This time the contest from Wayanad is not as easy for Rahul Gandhi as in 2019. The reason for this is not only the candidature of CPM leader Annie Raja but the local issues of Wayanad have also become a cause of trouble for Rahul Gandhi.
The biggest issue is the forests falling in the Lok Sabha constituency. According to statistics, about 36 percent of Wayanad district comes under forest. Local people have to suffer a lot due to attacks by wild animals. People close their shops at 6 o'clock on the road leading from Vadakkanad village near Sultan Bathery town in Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. According to local people, people are afraid to pass through this road after dusk. The terror of wild animals is increasing in Wayanad. For three years, people have been going to sleep in their homes as soon as possible.
Local people are also worried about this matter. According to a media report, a farmer expressed his displeasure with Rahul Gandhi and said that everyone is asking what our MP Rahul Gandhi has done to stop wildlife attacks in Vadnad. If he ever raises this issue in Parliament, he may win again but he is not giving us any assurance on this issue.
It is considered a major election issue in many constituencies in Kerala. But the situation looks serious in Wayanad. Where so far this year, three people have been crushed to death by wild elephants. LDF, Congress and BJP are blaming each other for this serious crisis. This has displaced many farming families from their lands near forest areas.
