The dates of Lok Sabha elections have been announced. Elections have been announced for 543 Lok Sabha seats in seven phases. In the third phase of Lok Sabha, elections will be held on 94 Lok Sabha seats on 7th May. The results of Lok Sabha elections will come on June 4.
The third phase notification was issued on April 12
The notification for the third phase was released on 12 April and the nomination process was conducted till 19 April. The nomination papers were scrutinized on 20 April and by 22 April the candidates withdrew their nominations.
The tenure of the current Lok Sabha ends on June 17.
Announcing the election dates, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that the tenure of the current Lok Sabha is ending on June 17. He said that there are more than 10.5 lakh polling stations across the country, out of which 55 lakh votes will be cast through EVMs. 1.5 crore polling officers and security personnel will be deployed to conduct the Lok Sabha elections peacefully. He said that there are 1.82 crore young voters who will vote this time in this Lok Sabha election. He said that this time 21.5 lakh voters aged 18 to 29 years will vote.
Election Commission has conducted 17 general elections so far
The Chief Election Commissioner said that the Election Commission has so far conducted 17 general elections and more than 400 assembly elections. The Election Commission has conducted 16 elections for the President and 16 elections for the Vice President. He said that he has been preparing for the elections for two years. The Chief Election Commissioner said that our team is fully prepared to conduct the elections.

Will send forms to voters above 85 years of age
The Election Commission said that this will be the first time in this Lok Sabha election that we will send forms to voters above 85 years of age. If such elderly voters say that they cannot reach the booth, our officials will go to their homes and collect their votes. He said that we will go from snow to forest and get every vote.
Special attention will be given to four challenges
He said that four types of challenges arise in every election. Muscle power, money power, misinformation and violation. A large number of security personnel will be deployed to control the muscle power. He said that every helicopter and chartered plane will be closely monitored. Intensive checking will be done at every airport.
Close contest between three political groups
In this election, tough competition can be seen mainly between three political groups. On one side is the National Democratic Alliance-NDA led by the Bharatiya Janata Party and on the other side are the parties included in the India Alliance. Many opposition forces including Congress are included in this alliance. The third group includes parties that are not included in any of these coalitions.
