Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Nitish Kumar's youth leader murdered, 2 bullets hit my head

Despite the code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections 2024, a youth leader has been murdered. 33 year old Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Saurabh Kumar was murdered last night in Punpun, Patna, the capital of Bihar. JDU is the party of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Saurabh was a very broad leader of the party. There were two bullets in his head. Her friend Munmun was seriously injured. The incident took place in Parsa Bazar village. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. Friend Munmun is in the hospital. There has been a stir in the police department after this incident amidst the code of conduct. The case has been registered and investigation has been started.

Angered by the incident, people protested this morning and blocked the Patna-Gaya highway. As soon as Misa Bharti, the party candidate from Patliputra seat and elder daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, got the news of Saurabh Kumar's murder, she reached Saurabh Kumar's house early in the morning. Friends and party workers of deceased Saurabh are also worried. They are demanding the arrest of the killers. According to media reports, Saurabh Kumar, along with being a leader of JDU, was also running a property dealing business. In such a situation, the police also suspect murder in a land dispute. According to City SP East India Soni, JDU leader Saurabh Kumar, resident of Shivnagar, had gone to the reception party of an expert in Badhian Kol village of Punpun. His friend Munmun was also with him. Both of them were returning to the village late at night when four miscreants riding a bike opened fire on them near Parsa Bazar village. In which both were injured. Passersby took him to the nursing home, but by then Saurabh Kumar had died. Munmun Kumar also got hit by two bullets. The family has admitted him to a private nursing home in Kankarbagh, Patna for treatment.
