Lok Sabha elections are being held on 88 seats in the country. Although Bihar has special importance in the Lok Sabha elections, but let us tell you that Muslim votes dominate 17 seats here.
Seemanchal region of Bihar is generally considered Muslim dominated. But out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, Muslim voters are in the role of kingmakers in almost half i.e. 17 seats.
Muslim voters are in majority in Kishanganj. But there are three seats where their population is more than one-third. A look at the voting pattern of Muslim voters shows that they are mostly known for one-sided voting. Therefore, the party with which he goes has the upper hand.
There are about 68 percent Muslim voters in Kishanganj.
One fourth or 10 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar where the Muslim population is more than 18%. Maximum i.e. about 68 percent voters are in Kishanganj. After 1967, there was no election in which a non-Muslim MP was elected. All the MLAs of the six assemblies here are also Muslims.
Katihar, Purnia also have majority of Muslim voters, Araria
It is the area with the second highest number of Muslim voters i.e. about 43%. Muslim MPs have been elected from here 6 times and current Congress candidate Tariq Anwar has represented 5 times.
42 percent Muslim voters on Araria seat
Araria seat also has about 42 percent Muslim voters. In 2014, RJD's Muslim candidate Taslimuddin had won here. In Purnia also, more than one-third of the voters are Muslims. The number of Muslim voters here is about 38 percent. However, this time there is no big Muslim face in the election field.
Madhubani seat of Mithilanchal also has about 26 percent Muslim voters and till now Muslim candidate has won from here 4 times. This time RJD has given ticket to its former MP from Darbhanga Ali Ashraf Fatmi.
BJP has made sitting MP Ashok Yadav its candidate from here. Kot, Bisfi, Madhubani and Harlakhi are Muslim dominated assembly constituencies in Madhubani.
Darbhanga in Mithilanchal also has about 23 percent Muslim voters. Muslim candidate has won from this seat 6 times. BJP has fielded outgoing MP Gopalji Thakur while RJD has placed its bet on Lalit Yadav.
The population of Muslims in Sitamarhi seat of Mithilanchal is about 21 percent. But till now no Muslim candidate has been able to win from this seat. After Mandal politics, this seat became the stronghold of Lalu Yadav's party. But now NDA's coin is in use here.
This time JDU has fielded Devesh Chandra Thakur from here, while RJD has placed its bet on former MP Arjun Rai.
Muslim vote important on Champaran seat
Due to delimitation in 2008, Bettiah seat became West Champaran and here too there are more than 20 percent Muslims. A Muslim candidate has won from Bettiah twice. But now it has become a stronghold of BJP.
Before delimitation, East Champaran was also Motihari, where about 21% are Mulmans. However, till now no Muslim candidate has had any luck from here. BJP has fielded sitting MP Radhamohan Singh and India Block has fielded Rajesh Kushwaha.
Muslims dominate Siwan seat
Despite only 18 percent Muslim population in Siwan Lok Sabha seat, a Muslim candidate has got a chance to get elected 9 times. Notorious criminal Shahabuddin got a chance to win elections from RJD four times. This time JDU has given ticket to Ramesh Kushwaha and RJD has given ticket to Awadh Bihar Chaudhary.
Muslims are in the role of kingmakers on these seven seats also
Apart from the above 10 seats, the Muslim population in 7 Lok Sabha seats of Bihar is between 13 to 17 percent. The percentage votes are in Gopalganj (17%), Supaul (17%), Shivhar (16%), Muzaffarpur (15%), Khagaria (15%), Begusarai (14%) and Gaya (13%).
